South Glasgow Heritage & Environment Trust is run by a management group of volunteers and others who are interested in researching, preserving and maintaining the rich environment and heritage of Glasgow’s south side.

Mission Statement  

To recognise the importance of heritage, history, and

     environment issues and to implement a strategy towards

     greater knowledge for all.


What We Do  

Our current services include:

    Research facilities

    Historical drama re-enactments

    Historical Tours

    Annual Conferences

    Exhibitions

    Input to Curriculum issues via Educational Establishments

    Work with other Heritage/history organisations

    Work with local communities and organisations

    Work with Glasgow City Council re environment

     improvements.


Achievements and Performance

Input to restoration of Langside Hall with regards to

         funding for Feasibility Study and Development Plan in

         partnership with Glasgow City Council and Glasgow Life

         and local community engagement.


       Update of website including the use of Social media as part

        of our communication with others

Newsletter established

History workshops and visual historical images created by

        Shawlands Academy Pupils as part of the Vibrancy

        Programme.

Next
